"Towards Carbon Zero Digital Infrastructure" Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile
Chicago's efficiency and sustainability challenge!
Covid 19. Digital Infra Partners Update. The spread of Covid 19 has escalated and many cities/nations are now taking preventative action to reduce the spread of this virus which includes curtailing and in some cases cancelling large gatherings altogether. The well being of our Partners and Attendees is of paramount importance to everyone, as a result of this, we have been in discussion with our venues for the upcoming events view to rescheduling and will announce new dates as they become available. We are monitoring the situation very closely to establish the optimum time to deliver these events and fulfil our obligations, this is, of course, dependant on how things develop over the coming weeks and months.
Chicago is already the 3rd largest datacenter market in North America and with recent tax incentives it is being predicted to double in size within 4-5 years according to Cushman & Wakefield. Combine this with the Cities ambition to becoming carbon neutral by 2035 and using 100% renewable energy by 2050 - the digital infrastructure industry needs to re-think it's approach to meet these goals.
Working “Towards Carbon Zero 2030” addresses not only the Energy Transition and demand for carbon-clean energy to power business and industry operations. It also speaks to the Circular Economy as it applies to our industry, calling for a substantial reduction in the carbon embedded in everything from construction materials to both the facilities and IT hardware infrastructure, and its performance from a lifecycle management perspective.
Digital Infra Network and the "Towards Carbon Zero 2030" Summit Series is our response to the now urgent mandate requiring the combined industry sectors that make up modern Digital Infrastructure meet and even exceed the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.
Our mission focuses on several key areas:
Smart, Clean Energy - Generation, Transmission, Smart-Grid Distribution, Clean Power Purchasing, Virtual Power Plants, On-Site/Near-Site Clean Power Generation, Micro-grids and Blockchain, Demand Response Management, RECs and Carbon Credit Markets. All of which play their part in “Scorecarding” how we get to carbon zero.
Green Telecom Networks - High-Speed/Low-Latency for Long-Distance and Short-Haul metro Fiber, 5G Mobile and Wireless, IoT Edge.
Sustainable Data Center Facilities Infrastructure - Power and Cooling of Infrastructure from the New IoT Edge to the Multi-tenant Colo to Hyperscale Cloud.
IT and Facilities Infrastructure Life-Cycle - Managing towards the Circular Economy, for the full, holistic infrastructure “chip to chiller”.
Industry Self-Governance, the UN SDGs 2030 - Aligning with, Measuring and Reporting Performance on fulfilment of the Zero Carbon 2030 Mandate (in global affiliation with the SmartNations Foundation)
Sustainable Design/Construction and Supply Chain - How current methodologies are evolving to meet the sustainability challenge
Sustainable Outsourcing - How clean is your cloud? Do Operators Sustainability goals align with those of the End User?
Join over 400+ end users, solution providers, service providers and experts to discuss how we steward the move towards a more sustainable and carbon neutral future for Digital Infrastructure - including Edge, Telco, Service Provider, Enterprise and Hyperscale operators. Attendees will network with their peers and hear from leading-industry specialists and solution providers who have the know-how and technology to solve efficiency and sustainability challenges.
